Planting mature trees for Harrison Funerals.

TREES PLANTED

Maree and Brian Harrison from Harrison Funerals plant one mature tree for every funeral service held at their Ballarat premises. The trees are sourced from Avalon Nursery (Haddon) and Fifteen Trees then distributes the trees to community groups.

To date, Harrison Funerals have helped plant over 250 mature trees in school grounds across Ballarat.

This time round, 16 mature trees went to Urquhart PS.
“Hi Maree and Brian. What a fantastic day we had! Nothing better than seeing parents, students and teachers all getting involved in the ‘school yard blitz’ session – giving the school grounds a much needed make-over. Thank you so much for making this project possible.  This is Step One of our ‘greening our learning environment’  project. I was elected to the school council this year, and am heading up the Grounds and Buildings Sub-committee.  Our tree planting activity helped to bring new families into this sub-committee and started further discussions of more grand plans for the school :) Thanks again, we will be sure to acknowledge your support again in the next school newsletter”.  Shiree Pilkinton (School Committee member).
