The Friends of Learmonth are very grateful for the donation by Fifteen Trees for the 20 exotics which we have planted in our Community Garden. This is the beginning of what we hope will become a Botanical Park for generations to enjoy. The community garden is a community initiative which continues to evolve. The exotics chosen will provide a magnificent autumnal show and we hope will provide shade, shelter and some trees for climbing for the next generation.
Yours Sincerely - Liz Charles. Chair Friends of Learmonth Inc.
The beautiful setting for the planting of these 20 exotics was at Learmonth Community Gardens (half an hour west of Ballarat). Thanks must go to Maree and Brian Harrison from Harrison Funerals who have generously paid for these trees. Maree and Brian have now helped plant almost 80 mature trees over the past 2 years. Maree says ‘We became involved with Fifteen Trees because we wanted to contribute in some way to making the world a greener place”. What a fabulous sentiment and legacy to leave behind. I particularly like the idea of the trees being used in the future for kids to climb.
